SYP can collect two different types of data, anonymised, or personalised data. In both instances, SYP takes every reasonable step to secure such data under the current POPI Act. We employ a range of security mechanisms, procedures and technologies to secure any data collect, or transmitted by SYP, secured at its most basic form through encryption of all communication.
Whilst browsing our fantastic website, and subsequently returning as a result of our fantastic service offering and affordable item, we collect anonymised data through online marketing platforms such as Google Analytics, Adwords and Hotjar. These platform anonymise and aggregate data which is shared back with us for marketing and optimisation purposes.
In the event that you sell an item to us, or buy an item from us, we will be required to collect certain personally identifiable information from you as stipulated in the Second Hands Good Act. All companies that deal in second hand goods are required to do under law - especially the brick-and-mortar franchises you are aware of.
